Shopify's admin is built for editing one product at a time. The moment a job covers the whole catalog (restructuring variants for collection pages, repricing for a sale, filling in alt text, renaming a range) the choices are a paid app for each task or an afternoon of spreadsheet formulas that are easy to get wrong.

Catalog Structure and Variants
A single listing with a colour dropdown keeps a storefront tidy, while a separate product per colour gives each one its own tile on collection pages and its own entry in shopping feeds. Which is better depends on the range, and stores often change their minds.

Competitor and Supplier Monitoring
Shopify stores publish their catalog in a standard format. Scraperfy reads it page by page and writes a CSV with every variant, price and image.

Sale Pricing
A sale touches two columns on every variant: the price, and the compare-at price that produces the strike-through. Doing that by formula is where discounts get applied twice or prices get rounded the wrong way.

Do I need to install an app or give access to my Shopify store?
No. Every tool works on a product CSV you export yourself, or on a store's public catalog. There are no API keys, no app installs and no permissions to grant.
Are my catalog files saved on your servers?
Files uploaded to the CSV tools are used only for that request and discarded when it finishes. Scraperfy is different: it saves each export on the server so it can be downloaded and emailed to you, and records the email address you enter.
Will the CSV files import into Shopify without errors?
The tools write files in Shopify's product CSV format and keep the columns of the file you uploaded. No tool can promise a clean import, because that also depends on the data in your file and the settings of your store. Run the result through the CSV Import Checker before importing.
Are the tools really free?

How large a catalog can the tools handle?
The CSV tools are used with catalogs of several thousand products. Scraperfy exports up to 100,000 products per store. Shopify itself limits a product import file to 15 MB, so very large catalogs need to be imported in parts.
